El diario NewsDay ha tenido un problema inaudito. Según Netwolrd, Apple ha amenazado a la publicación de retirar su aplicación lectora de la tableta iPad si el periódico no renunciaba a una campaña publicitaria en la que se mostraba una tableta rota. El anuncio era del todo inocente y todavía se puede ver en YouTube. Un padre de familia está en la cocina leyendo la edición digital del diario en una iPad. Molesto con el revoloteo de una mosca, cuando ésta se posa encima de la mesa, el padre utiliza la iPad para matarla. Olvidando que no se trata de un ejemplar de papel, la tableta se queda hecha añicos. Al fabricante de la tableta le ha molestado el chiste y podría haber considerado que el anuncio perjudica la reputación de su producto y de la marca.
